We are so proud of our reviews
Excellent stay at the ivy b&b. It was like home from home. Very comfortable room in a great location. Even sitting in the garden relaxing reading was a treat. Breakfast was outstanding every day and Nicky and Rik are both fantastic and full of knowledge about the area. We will definitely be back.

Beautiful, welcoming B & B
Really beautiful B&B in the picturesque village of Holbeton. We had a really warm welcome from the owners & their adorable dog & were shown to our room. The room itself was beautiful - really comfy beds & very clean & tidy, with lots of light. There were a range of breakfasts to choose from including the full english which we both had. The breakfast itself was delicious - probably the best hotel/B&B breakfast I've had! I didn't bring my dog on this occasion but the B&B is dog friendly & there's even lots of info for dog owners in the welcome booklet which is a really thoughtful touch! I will definitely stay here again!
The place was absolutely perfect!

Lovely hosts and lovely place to stay.
We had the family room which had an upstairs for 2 /3 children whilst there was a double downstairs. It was quirky! And good that we had somewhere to sit and watch TV. Breakfast was amazing!

Lovely hosts, pretty location
Nicky and Rik were lovely hosts fitting us in at last minute with our dog. Clean and comfortable room with all facilities even dog bed, bowls and treats!
Breakfast is fab and you must try the scrambled eggs!
Room was rather warm but there were good instructions on how to change the temperature. The welcome book in the room was very useful especially about the hot shower. Shower was powerful and easy to use.
Good range of teas and coffee in the room. Even biscuits and a few chocolates which was a nice touch.
Knowledgeable owners and nothing too much trouble.
Thanks for a nice couple of days.

Tucked away in deepest Devon.
Really enjoyed our two night stay here in August whilst on the SWCP. The rooms are homely, clean and comfortable and breakfast was excellent; we particularly enjoyed the fresh fruit and porridge. Sadly, didn't get to sample the afternoon tea, as we were out walking - maybe next time!
Our hosts were very friendly and knowledgeable re local walks and looked after us well.

Fab B&B in great setting
Lovely room ( and very clean and tidy!) - booked to stay with our dog in tow, who received her own bed and biscuits in the room. Breakfast was wonderful, preordered the night before to save any waiting in the morning - porridge even comes with clotted cream, and the mushrooms on toast were divine (as was the full English my husband had!). Gave us some great ideas for walks, and even supplied a map to stop us getting lost! Lovely hosts, this really is a gem of a find, and one we will be visiting again! Thank you Rik and Nicky, you made our weekend very special!

A charming little gem
Our first stay here though we have stayed in the area 20+ times. The location in the sweet little village of Holbeton is delightful as well as really convenient - 2 pubs and village stores are just yards away. Friendly owners Nicky and Rik are the best of hosts and the place is totally welcoming. Our puppy Eddie even had their friendly dog to play with....
Top breakfasts with an array of other eating treats available - cream teas and packed lunches etc.
The rooms are not huge but the beds are really comfortable and the the gushing shower was a joy. The little garden was a nice surprise too.
A place to enjoy and definitely one to return to - as we will for sure.

Hosts very welcoming and organised.
The individual en suite rooms with private access were ideal as we had our dog with us - dog bowl and bed provided. The breakfast menu was left in our room each day, with a good choice of dishes. They also offered a light menu which was available in the afternoon. They were knowledgeable about the area and the guide in the room gave suggestions for local dog walking and days out as well as other essential information. We will definitely return if in that area

Comfortable rooms, clean, good breakfast
Comfortable rooms, clean, good breakfast. Friendly host and hostess, who provided helpful lifts to and from the days walking on the South West Coast Path. Great pub next door for evening meal. Pretty village.

A good place to stop over
We needed somewhere to stay for one night while we were walking part of the South West Coast Path. Nicky and Rik were very helpful offering us lifts from the coast path and to a bus stop the next morning. The breakfast was good and included some local Hog's Pudding which was appreciated! The nearby pub (Dartmoor Union) had a logfire burning and provided a good evening meal. The bed was very comfortable, one of the best we slept in. Everything was very efficiently run.

Relaxing stay at The Ivy Barn
My husband and I have just returned from a 3 night stay at Nicky and Riks lovely place. The setting is very pretty and was an excellent base for day trips around the area. There are 2 great pubs nearby within walking distance which both do nice food if you don't feel like going far in the evenings. The accomodation had everything we needed and a very comfy bed with lovely cotton sheets. Breakfast was brilliant, the best poached eggs I have had. Rik is a mine of information on the local area which is great and very helpful.
Even when we managed to set the fire alarm off in the middle of the night Rik manage to smile and tell us not to worry!!

The Ivy Barn is so welcoming
We stayed at The Ivy Barn last year, when we had to vacate our home whilst building work was completed. Since then, when we've not had enough room to accommodate them, several sets of friends and family members - some with dogs, others with babies - have also stayed.
On every occasion, Nicky and Rik have gone out of their way to make visitors feel at home. The rooms are very comfortable, spacious, and well-equipped, and we especially like the fact that those we and friends/family have stayed in, are separately accessed from outside, which really enhances the feeling of privacy and having your own space. Breakfasts are very generous and varied, catering for all tastes and dietary requirements. Our most recent visitors stayed in January 2018 but there were also several last year. Holbeton is a lovely village, with two excellent pubs, and close to sea and moor. This is a perfect place to stay and we recommend it very highly.

We spent a peaceful three nights at the Ivy Barn, the only noise to disturb us was the gentle hooting of a pair of tawny owls. Very comfortable bed, delicious breakfast and friendly owners, all set in the delightful small Devon village of Holbeton. What more could you ask for?

Fantastic family room
We stayed here at the weekend. Beautiful location. Fantastic room for a family with children as the children could go to bed upstairs and you could still have an evening downstairs - perfect. Fantastic breakfast and a packed lunch provided which was really helpful for us.

My friend and I used this B&B as a convenient place to stay, due to it's easy location for a family wedding, on 21st. The owners Nicky and Rick were very friendly and helpful, sharing local knowledge and supporting the Guests, with maps and lifts to the starting points of the coastal path.
We found the room (twin with shower) very clean, the beds comfortable and pleasantly decorated.
Breakfast was plentiful and well cooked with lots of options depending on your preferred choice.
In all a good place to use as a base if exploring this part of Devon.

We booked with Ivy Barn Nicky And Rick For week. This Bed and Breakfast is the best place to stay.
Room was clean and spacious. The breakfast were the best we have ever eaten. Rick Nicky were the best hosts. recommending places to visit and eat. This Bed breakfast hits all requirements for a wonderful quiet holiday stay. Rick even sings in the pub across the drive. Just great. Thanks Nicky Rick and not forgetting Merlin. We will be back hopefully with family."

A great touch and a really positive first impression.
Breakfast was very good. Freshly cooked and with unobtrusive service.
Highly recommended for a weekend 'getaway'. Embrace the lack of mobile signal and enjoy being back in a place where conversation is key

What can I say, Nicky helped us out from a nightmare at the drop of a hat, a true lifesaver. The rooms were lovely, clean, everything you need, breakfast was, for us, spot on, lovely home cooked food with a big choice, go again?
People like Nicky and her husband are what makes a B&B a great B&B
A good place to stopover
